Wearing this comfy set feels like cheating! I’m pretty much wearing pajamas in public with only my swagger and a necklace to prove that it’s appropriate to wear this outside my house. Can you blame me? When you’ve got stuff this soft, you never want to take it off!

This outfit (minus the hat) won me a best-dressed contest at work and though it’s taken me quite a long time to put it on again, I’m still in love. I’m obsessed with jumpsuits/rompers and I bought this one way out of season last fall (out of season = great deal). People tend to think jumpsuits are difficult to wear, but I think it’s quite the opposite.
simple is good
With statement accessories like this vintage necklace (scored in St. Louis’ Cool Stuff Really Cheep!), I try to keep the rest of my outfit simple, along with another punch from the shoes for balance. With the weather being so wishy-washy – rainy one day, hot and humid the next, cool during the night – I go back to basics.
Because really, simple is always good. I’ve had this drapey sweater shirt for years now and it’s served me in all kinds of weather! I spent a little bit more on it than I usually would because of how soft and rich the fabric feels. I paired it with my new favorite black skinny pant, UO’s seam jean, and voila! The perfect backdrop for the accessories to shine.
salvage atl 2014
Salvage, put on by the same geniuses who created Indie Craft Experience, is one of the many Atlanta events I look forward to. Here, vendors can sell all their vintage finds and vintage-inspired creations to people like me who like to fancy themselves connoisseurs of pretty things. Not only that, it also gives me an excuse to purchase delicious treats from The Little Tart, King of Pops, and Atomic Ice Cream Sandwiches (there goes my wallet and my diet).
My two purchases of the day were the Missouri plate you see above (for the STL beau) and a sweet little Etienne Aigner wicker shoulder bag from Red Tag Affair (you can see it in her picture way up above)!
soft knit spring
Down here in Atlanta (and I’m assuming all over the nation), we’re stuck in some terrible limbo between winter and spring. The calendar says it’s obviously spring, but Mother Nature begs to differ. In the midst of it, the upside is that all the winter clothing is going on sale! I scored this awesome cozy sweater from the Target clearance rack for $7. How could I pass that up?
let the light in
Spring is so here. It’s so here. Regardless of how many more freak cold fronts we might face, I’m determined to be in spring mode. It makes everything better! And with every beautiful day, I’m starting to pull out things in my wardrobe I forgot I ever had. This easy outfit features items that have been hibernating in my closet for quite some time now so I don’t think any of it is available in the stores anymore..
pin addiction: illustration
I bow down to the creators of Pinterest. Never have I ever had such organized imagery inspiration to keep track of all the things that make me look or think twice. As you can imagine, the boards closest to my heart are those related to my craft – art, installation, and illustration. Here is some of my favorite illustrative work found via Pinterest:

rachel rector lingerie
I usually don’t pay much attention to my undergarments; I typically go for comfort and if anything else, something cute. It doesn’t usually occur to me that my style can extend to lingerie. I’d love to be shown the way, and I think Rachel Rector’s modern designs could do just that.
This Brooklyn-based designer crafts lovely pieces using bright and sweet colors with bold lines and classic silhouettes. Her lovingly made creations are intended to provide support in more ways than one. Boosting your booty and your confidence? I say yes.
But in order to get these beauties out to the world, Rachel is seeking some Kickstartin’ help! Please share her campaign if you can and spread the word out. RR lingerie is a wonderful alternative to the mass-produced cookie cutter bras and such you find in the mall; wouldn’t you like to wear something underneath that’s as beautiful and unique as you are? One glance at these lookbooks and I know you’ll want to wear undergarments on the outside as much as I do.
new instalove
Ever since I received my VERY FIRST smartphone for Christmas, I’ve been instagramming like a mad woman. I’ve always been pretty addicted to the app and I can’t believe I’ve not even been using it for a year. Now that I don’t have to borrow my boyfriend’s phone, I’ve been able to instagram whenever and wherever my heart desires! Here are some of my favorites over the past month or so. spring shoe lust
I’m sure that you, just like me, are dying for winter to go away for good. Until it does, I’m going to keep dreaming of wearing these easy breezy styles up and down the festival circuit. Everyone needs at least one or two pairs from each of these trends: fun statement flats, simple sandals, and chunky fisherman-inspired heels. I gotta say, I like where fashion is going right now; modern simplicity with bold accents and a delicate balance of masculine and feminine silhouettes.
